The Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français (SNCF), one of the world’s leading railway companies, operates an extensive service network across France and beyond.
About 14,000 trains are operated daily and its functions include operation of railway services for passengers and freight, maintenance and signaling of rail infrastructure.
With numerous and diverse business processes – from railway operations management and infrastructure maintenance to customer services – digitalization and optimization are crucial challenges.
SNCF was already developing mobile applications for multiple usages within the company but was unhappy with time to market & agility processes. Also, they noticed that 80% of the projects were sharing the same constraints such as security, authentication, offline data and access to back end services. A global decision was made to streamline app development by using a platform.
A RFI and RFP were published where several platform vendors were involved.
The RFP was won by Convertigo against competitors for several reasons:

Convertigo technologies are now spread in major SNCF business units (Railways Network BU, Rail station BU & Trains BU) serving more than 15 000 internal users.
Applications are built for maintenance, HR, train traffic display and many more other small business processes requiring agility.
One of the major application is the offline data train Maintenance application connected to IBM Maximo Asset management software.
