Chantiers de l'Atlantique is one of the world’s largest shipyards, located in Saint-Nazaire. Known for its expertise in constructing commercial, naval, and passenger ships, it benefits from its strategic position near the mouth of the Loire River, with direct access to the Atlantic’s deep waters. This location enables the seamless sailing of large vessels, reinforcing Chantiers de l'Atlantique’s role as a global leader in shipbuilding innovation.
The IT System is based on a central SAP ERP. Although the system provides power and reliability, employees needed new digital applications to perform their daily tasks.
Another important asset in the company is Alfresco ECM holding all the ship technical documentation.
The challenge was to build new UI optimized applications able to execute offline synchronization within the constructed ships, processing data from SAP and Alfresco.
Also, the company noticed that many users where using non managed Google Forms for critical data.

Network connectivity is an issue on ships. Every action performed in the applications is saved on the mobile device and then synchronized with the central system once the network is restored
